The wheel speed sensor is located inside the brake shoe of the axle head and outside the bearing inside the axle head. Corresponding to the wheel speed sensor is the ring gear. When the wheel hub is removed for normal maintenance, the top of the wheel speed sensor and the ring gear are very dirty. Sometimes it may even be contaminated with a lot of grease (butter). In this case, it will directly affect the sensitivity of the wheel speed sensor.
When maintaining the wheel hub, the front end of the wheel speed sensor and the ring gear must be cleaned as necessary. When the oil and dust between the teeth of the ring gear are serious, you can use gasoline, diesel, carburetor cleaner, etc. to clean the ring gear to ensure the cleanliness of the ring gear and avoid the ABS light turning on due to dirt. Signal Acquisition.
After the wheel speed sensor is cleaned, it needs to be pushed out as far as possible from the rear end of the sensor to the front end to ensure the relative gap between the wheel speed sensor and the ring gear after the wheel hub is successfully installed. If the gap is too large, it will also affect the wheel speed. Sensor signal collection.
If your wheel hub is lubricated by grease (butter), when adding grease, please add an appropriate amount, especially the inner end of the inner bearing. Do not add too much. Otherwise, when the wheel hub pushes the axle tube, the excess grease will be scraped by the ring gear. After the ring gear and wheel speed sensor are contaminated by grease, it will also affect the wheel speed signal collection.
When installing the wheel hub on the axle tube, adjust the direction of the wheel hub and the concentricity of the axle tube as much as possible to ensure that the concentricity of the wheel hub and the axle tube is as consistent as possible (the height is the same, the front and rear deviation is not large) to avoid the hub from When pushing onto the axle tube, it hit the wheel speed sensor and pushed the sensor back.
Once it hits the wheel speed sensor, the direct result is: the gap between the wheel speed sensor and the ring gear is too large, which directly affects the wheel speed signal collection. The ABS indicator light turns on. The ABS ring gear does not exist as a whole with the wheel hub, but later. The thickness of the normal ABS ring gear when mounted is generally about 5 mm.
